Singapore a Police State, Videos

Ladies and Gentlemen,

If you are not aware of the hidden side of Singapore, a police state no better than present day Burma or North Korea, the following 2 videos will interest you.

In them appear Chee Siok Chin, one of Singapore's handful of freedom fighters who are demanding the introduction of democracy in the island which is presently lacking under the government of the father and son team (Lee Kuan Yew and Son).

The incident in the video occurred on Nov 20, 2007 along Orchard Road and Scotts Road Singapore leading up to the Shangri-La Hotel where delegates from the Asean countries were holding their meetings on matters including human rights.

You will see in the video that all Chee Siok Chin was doing was merely walking along the street that leads up to the Hotel. The street is a public street where anyone has a right to pass. Yet you see that she alone is confronted, manhandled, harassed and physically and mentally abused and abducted to an unknown destination in an unmarked police vehicle.

She has not committed any offense. You notice the police keep telling her that the area is a "gazetted place" for asking her to leave, yet this rule does not appear to apply to anyone else, since cars and people are seen moving freely along the road.

I hope that both Singaporeans and friends alike from all over the world will pass this video around to show what really is Singapore under the control of father and his son, that is Lee Kuan Yew and his son Lee Hsien Loong. The father calls himself Minister Mentor and the son calls himself Prime Minister.

Sonny Pereira, another Facebook user, said the former leader’s remarks were seditious.

“This is serious! He ought to [feel] shame in public and the Arab world for what he said. This is sedition!” Pereira wrote.

Yes. Time to arrest Lee Kuan Yew for inciting racial intolerance.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ filenote is hardly conclusive. Perhaps the officer taking notes knew what should or should not be recorded.

It would seem to me that using the word “venomous” would be entirely in character with the man. It would also be unlikely that the US embassy staffer would make a note of a word (in quotation marks too) unless it had been used at some point. However, it is more than possible that even if Lee had used the word, he used it in relation to Islamist extremism, but such detail was omitted from the minutes.

Lee Kuan Yew is an idiot.

His comments on Islam are naive and quite possibly put a big target on Singapore passport holders.

Moron!

Google "lee kuan yew" "venomous" "islam"

and see how many pages of results you get.

The whole world is finally getting to see the true character of this racialist rascal.

Dear Gopalan,

Excuse my long post.

Sometimes, I skype relatives in Singapore because they want to keep in contact with me.

When I showed them the Chee Siok Chin YouTube, I received a response that she was stopped because she was a trouble-maker.

What trouble did she cause? The lame response: She disturbed the social harmony in Singapore. I know where this is heading and decided to divert the topic.

*** Only in a Police State will you find citizens so cowered about punishment, that they step out of line. Police brutality is acceptable ***

Then I asked them how were they getting on? And they vent all their frustrations at me. They told me that they felt helpless, and that so and so need money.

*** I almost forgot that in Singapore, everyone live on the treadmill, one misstep and if that citizen cannot get back to the machine, it is game over for him/her ***

Then they asked me how was I coping with cost raises in Australia. I told them that last year, I responded to an SMS from the union and went to a STOP-WORK rally outside the Parliament. We won better wage raise for the next 3 years and they back pay me last month. (OK it was still lower than the inflation but we do not have a militant union).

Isn't that disrupting to the peace?
No, it was well organised with police COOPERATION and public transport operators informed.

The police did check my bag to make sure I am not carrying weapons.

Wha, how come the Australia police so weak one - allow strikes!

Sad to say, they do not get it. PAP propaganda works!

The most shocking thing in these 2 Youtube videos, in my opinion, are the nasty & negative comments from Singaporean netizens. Such a morally defunct bunch of people...

Gopalan,

A classic case of the media being controlled and manipulated by Lee Kuan Yew.

In the morning when I browse it was 7 pages long including a full version of the Wikileaks. Now I search the archive and this is what remains of the 7 pages statement.

SINGAPORE: Singapore's former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew said the claim in a cable released by WikiLeaks in which he had "characterized Islam as a 'venomous religion'", is false.

Mr Lee on Monday issued a statement following the release by WikiLeaks of a cable by the US Embassy in Singapore reporting on the visit of then United States Senator Hillary Clinton to Singapore in July 2005.

He added that that he looked up the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' filenote of the meeting and nowhere does it record him describing Islam as "venomous", nor did he say anything which could have given that impression in his meeting with Clinton.

In the statement, Mr Lee said he did talk about extremist terrorists like the Jemaah Islamiyah group, and the jihadist preachers who brainwashed them.

He said that they are implacable in wanting to put down all who do not agree with them.

He added that their Islam is a perverted version, which the overwhelming majority of Muslims in Singapore do not subscribe to.

Mr Lee said he also pointed out that Singapore Muslim leaders are rational, and that the ultimate solution to extremist terrorism was to give moderate Muslims the courage to stand up and speak out against radicals who have hijacked Islam to recruit volunteers for their violent ends.

How about we charge a defamation suit against LKY?

This is what remains of the Press Statement as an afterthought. A Freudian slip or a seasoned liar?

Notice the ----- shear at the end of the statement.

PRESS STATEMENT
Wikileaks released a cable by the US Embassy in Singapore reporting
on the visit of Senator Hillary Clinton to Singapore in Jul 2005. The cable claimed that in my meeting with Senator Clinton, I had “characterized Islam as a ‘venomous religion’”.
This is false. I looked up MFA’s filenote of the meeting. Nowhere does it record me describing Islam as “venomous”, nor did I say anything which could have given that impression.
I did talk about extremist terrorists like the Jemaah Islamiyah group, and the jihadist preachers who brainwashed them. They are implacable in wanting to put down all who do not agree with them. So their Islam is a perverted version, which the overwhelming majority of Muslims in
Singapore do not subscribe to.
I also pointed out that our Muslim leaders are rational, and that the
ultimate solution to extremist terrorism was to give moderate Muslims the courage to stand up and speak out against radicals who have hijacked Islam to recruit volunteers for their violent ends.
