Gopalan Nair leaves Singapore Legal System in a bind.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Yesterday Aug 23, 2011, I wrote the blog here titled "Singapore Law Society vs Gopalan Nair, the Judgement, or Justifying the Unjustifiable" enclosing the Judgement and Grounds of Decision from the Singapore court ordering my Disbarment from law practice in Singapore. Please read the judgement.

In it the Singapore Supreme Court of 3 judges had unanimously found that I do not have the attributes of character, integrity, probity or trustworthiness to be able to practice law in Singapore. In other words they have said I am a person of bad character.

The Singapore Law Society which has the responsibility of protecting the Singaporean public from such a person as myself, is also duty bound, as a member of nations in the world, to ensure that every other jurisdiction in which I have a licence to practice law is alerted to the fact that I have been disbarred in Singapore, so that they too could take appropriate action to ensure that their citizens are protected from unethical lawyers who lack honesty, integrity, probity and trustworthiness which Singapore claims I do not have.

This is a courtesy expected of any country worth it's salt in the fraternity of nations.

The Singapore Law Society as evidenced by their own records and by their own admission is aware that I am presently a member in good standing at the Bar of England and Wales and the State Bar of California, USA.

In these circumstances, if the Singapore legal system is to be taken seriously, they should take necessary steps to alert both the Bar of England and Wales of which I am a Barrister at Law in good standing and the State Bar of California at which I presently have an active practice as an Attorney at Law, that Gopalan Nair has been disbarred from Singapore law practice and they should take necessary steps to protect their own public from unethical lawyers like myslef. Surely.

And when they do this, they should serve me a copy of their actions as is requried by natural justice under Common Law.

My question to the Singapore government and their Law Society is this. Are you going to take the necessary action to file a formal complaint to the Bar of England and Wales informing them them that I, Gopalan Nair, have been struck off from the Singapore Law Society for lacking "honesty, integrity, probity and trustworthiness" and will you similarly file a complaint with the State Bar of California of this fact.

If the Republic of Singapore and it's legal system is to be taken seriously, you have to show that you owe a responsibility not only to the citizens of Singapore but also to the world to ensure that a thoroughly despicable character like myself, which you claim I am, should be disciplined anywhere in the world and if necessary disbarred.

If you do not do this, Singapore and it's legal system is admitting that it is nothing more than a Kangaroo legal system where you can say and do anything you want against your critics but are powerless when faced with scrutiny from the rest of the world.

The Internet is a very powerful tool, let me remind Singapore, and this blog post will remain on record for a very very long time for very very many people to read in very many counties in the world.

And let me remind you, that very many judiciaries, universities, embassies and consulates are going to read this and wonder about a country which says these terrible things about a lawyer in their own courts but is unwilling to do the right thing by alerting others.

Let me also remind you that since I was deported from Singapore in November 2008, I have not paid the Singapore court costs of the contempt proceedings brought against me.

My question is whether you are going to take the necessary steps to enforce your court costs of $5,000.00 owed to the Attorney General of Singaproe, which you had ordered me to pay, and which I have not; or are you not going to do anything to recover your money.

Do you want the rest of the world to think that the Attorney General of Singapore is a lion who roars when his master Lee Kuan Yew is around, but turns entirely quiet when faced with the rest of the world?

Finally let me also remind you that the recent court order disbarring me from practicing law in Singapore also included an order that I pay the costs of your proceedings.

Do you have the courage to actually compute your costs and demand that I pay, or will you just suck your thumb and simply go away quietly?

Let me remind Lee Kuan Yew and his Singaporean Kangaroo courts that the world is watching what you do or do not do in this case.

I have managed to get you in a bind in this case.

If you do nothing to enforce your decision and show that you mean business, you will be simply confirming what almost everyone in the world is slowly beginning to think; which is, that you are simply a banana republic with a legal system comprised of Lee Kuan Yew lackeys who abuse the law to punish political dissidents, but a country which does not have the courage to face the world with their claims.

I am waiting. And I suppose so is everyone else reading this blog post, in Singapore, USA, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Philippines, Germany, the Netherlands, France and the rest of the world.

What will you do now, Lee Kuan Yew's Singapore?

Any responsible country whose citizens need to be deported to Singapore should read your blog first.

As an ex-Singaporean living in Australia, I am totally disgusted at how you are treated in Singapore.

Singaporeans may be shocked by this. But currently, a community service organisation is bringing the Australian Federal Government to court for deporting asylum seekers to Malaysia. The government deportation plan is in limbo now.

For those who think Aussies are racist should look at how press freedom has allow Aussies to deal with this matter in a civilised way, in this program, http://www.sbs.com.au/shows/goback

But in Singapore, you have a rotting justice system and an unhappy people who are using the Elected Presidency to address what the General Election has failed to deliver.

And with a GRC taken over by opposition, the PAP and its PA wing are up to dirty tricks to deny their fellow Singaporean political opposites the same access and facilities enjoyed by the previous PAP MPs.

I think foreigners are treated better. Non PAP and Chee Soon Juan is treated worse than an alien.

Shame Shame Shame.

My niece in Singapore, who is an 'A' student was intending to study law. Now she has changed her mind. She doesn't want to earn 'dirty' money. She said her conscience wouldn't let her do it.

I agreed.

No. Your niece mustn't be discouraged.

By the time she graduates, Lee Kuan Yew will either be dead or suffering dementia.

And, if the current trends, brought about by the Internet (which Lee Kuan Yew cannot control), continue, in 2016, the PAP will be in a weakened state and forced to account for all of its policies.

Singapore then needs a fresh crop lawyers, unsullied by their sordid dealings for LKY, to stand up for citizens and businesses.

Best time to study law.

If you do a double major, e.g. law/economics, there will be numerous opportunities in corporate law.

A black eye for Lee Kuan Yew. Consults his PRC handlers on next steps.

UN report calls for democracy in Singapore

Among some of the calls made to the PAP Government included
(1) the lifting on the ban of peaceful public assemblies,

(2)the cessation of the use of defamation laws to stifle free speech, and

(3)the abolition of laws that curtail freedom of association.

Several countries including Canada, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom made the proposals.

Calls were also made for the Singapore Government to review its laws on mandatory death penalty.

The beginning of the end for the PAP starts this weekend after the results of the presidential elections are announced.

(A) If Tony Tan wins, he will be hounded for the rest of his term, and the PAP will loose in a major way in 2016.

(B) If one of the other candidates win, then the citizens will make Lee Kuan Yew's son's life a hell until he resigns or the next election.

The high level of discontent may actually force the non-PAP President to dissolve Parliament (under the advice of the PM, of course) and call an election much sooner than 2016.

The Arab Spring will arrive in Singapore on August 28th, 2011.

Majullah Singapura!

ps. Let's start a collection to ship the PAP back to the PRC.

Thanks for keeping this blog alive.

Check this out. This PAP thug who destroy JBJ, Francis Seow, Tang Liang Hong, Chee Soon Juan and countless others including slandering another presidential candidate from his ex-party, Tan Cheng Bock. He is now getting a taste of what it is like to be single out in Singapore's budding peoples democracy.

After the current PM slapped Dhanabalan, he resigned. But still, he has blood on his hands.

Dr Tony Tan outraged by attacks against sons
by Ng Jing Yng 11:49 AM Aug 25, 2011

SINGAPORE - Presidential candidate, Dr Tony Tan, said he was "outraged by the false allegations" and the "smear campaign" against his sons concerning their National Service (NS) stints.

His sons - Peter, Patrick and Philip - had issued a statement, this morning, refuting the online allegations made against them.

They said: "The allegations concerning our National Service - circulated on the Internet and reinforced by Dr Tony Tan's opponents - are lies."

They said that they had fulfilled their NS obligations according to Ministry of Defence requirements.

The statement added: "Our reputations and the institution of National Service have been maligned, simply to attack our father, Dr Tony Tan."

Although I would very much like to, I cannot share your euphoria. These presidential election don't appear to be more than new wine in old bottle. Look at the candidates. Tan Jee Say? He was a PAP man who claimed that he could not even criticize the PAP at the SDP! The others? Has anyone questioned the abuse of the law to stifle dissent? Questioned the violation of the Constitution on the lack of a free press etc? Has anyone argued that Chee Soon Juan should be allowed to contest them?
Simply none. I don't think it is going to be anything else than the same old wayang. For instance why do you think so much coverage is being given to Tan Jee Say by the State Controlled Press?

I would be very happy to be proved wrong but really I don't see what you see.

What Lee hopes to do through his arrogant hubris, is the hope that he could continue ruling Singapore by wire, since he knows the the cat is already out of the bag and he cannot rule directly. His hope is, that any of these characters, no matter who may win, and they in turn will go in to do the wayang, while in effect towing the Lee Kuan Yew line.

Afterall there is more than one way to skin a cat.

You probably have already come across lot of articles praising Steve Jobs who resigned as Apple's CEO after a spectacular career.

But he is a link to the 7 Products Steve Jobs Got Wrong.

And did you know that Steve Jobs never completed a university education. (I think he actually went to a community college and dropped out.)

I bring this up as a lesson to the young of Singapore and their parents.

There are many ways of getting an education and succeeding. The lack of success at any stage in your life should not stop you from success later on in life.

Americans understand this well, which is why many successful entrepreneurs come from that country.

Singapore used to be like that. The 'towkays' of the past were self made men with no education. But that did not stop them from building successful businesses.

Unfortunately, Lee Kuan Yew's system of scholars and the forced bonds that they have to then serve, has denied our nation potential Gates' and Jobs'.

Actually, the scholar system was Lee Kuan Yew's way of making sure that the Chen Show Mao's did not rise up and challenge him.

Singapore's scholar system effectively castrated and prevented threats to Lee Kuan Yew's regime.

The Wall Street Journal
Singapore Poll Energizes Voters

An unexpectedly fierce contest for Singapore's largely ceremonial presidency is turning into a test of the country's tightly controlled political system, energizing the movement toward a more competitive democracy in the city-state.

If the PAP's preferred candidate—former Deputy Prime Minister Tony Tan—wins by a wide margin, it would serve as a vote of confidence in the party

But if any of the other three candidates prevail—or force a slim margin of victory for Dr. Tan—it would serve as another rebuke to the ruling party

A PAP spokesman didn't respond to a request to comment.

Crowds as large as 30,000 people have attended the presidential candidates' rallies, offering boisterous cheers in scenes reminiscent of the intense campaign for May's election.

I love this comment in the Wall Street Journal.

You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things.

They push the human race forward.

And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

Most Asian societies tend not to tolerate the non conformists.

And Singapore has the additional burden of the know-it-all LKY.

His warped views on social engineering, eugenics (yes, like the Nazis), race and everything else in life has kept Singaporeans from becoming the sophisticated and confident go-getters that they could have become.

Instead, the country has to import Foreign Talents to fill the void.

LKY is a failed social engineer and a RACIALIST to boot.

Singapore politics turn feisty amid president vote

Choi Bee Tong makes for an unusual political rebel, especially in straight-laced Singapore.

The 73-year-old retired school teacher plans to vote Saturday for opposition politician Tan Jee Say to be the next president,

Choi brought her two toddler grandchildren earlier this week to a raucous rally with 30,000 Tan supporters

"I think many Singaporeans like me would like to have a president who serves a bigger role, instead of being a PAP puppet," Choi said. "Political awakening has finally happened in Singapore, and I want my grandchildren to see this."

The ballot papers are still being count, but I have already known the result, TONY TAN will be the next president.

It is very simple.

1. The silent majority are already living in fear, with a unique number behind every ballot paper which is matched against the voter, THEY DO NOT WANT TO RISK BEING THE NEXT GOPALAN NAIR OR CEE SOON JUAN.

2. People are feeling that the lives are comfortable - because they are being served by live-in maid who are only entitled to 1-day leave every 1 or 2 months. They do not want to live in the type of country the maid come from. THEY ARE AFRAID OF FREAK ELECTION RESULTS.

3. Singaporeans have never experience a different government from PAP. IN FACT, THEY STILL THINK PAP IS SINGAPORE. They have no experience of real democracy or their own human rights. They have no idea how civil society works.

4. The candidates are all the same, all connected to the PAP government. Those who are not pro PAP have been filtered out in the Eligibly process. SO, WHAT IS THE POINT OF VOTING OTHER CANDIDATES WHEN IT LOOKS LIKE A TRAP SET BY THE PAP TO CATCH DISLOYAL CITIZENS.
