Singapore. Another 3 stooges for Lee Kuan Yew's Court.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Singapore's state controlled newspaper the Straits Times online edition of Aug 19, 2009 has this alarming article "3 senior lawyers appointed JC". JC by the way is Lee Kuan Yew's term for Judicial Commissioner, another way of saying "obedient servants who will do anything and anytime for Lee Kuan Yew to pulverise his political opponents"; long explanation but necessary in this case.

The latest batch of clowns or stooges in this case are Quentin Loh, Senior Counsel (another way of saying they have earned Lee Kuan Yew's trust by sustained and long standing boot licking), Steven Chong, Senior Counsel and Phillip Pillay, who for some reason claims to be a doctor!

This latest batch of card carrying Lee Kuan Yew supporters will now parade as Judges and from the Bench will deliver pronouncements on the law, or rather their version of it, always ready to say that 2 plus 2 is five or any other number that Lee Kuan Yew desires as and when he pleases. And from their privileged positions, protected by their 86 year old octogenarian strongman Lee Kuan Yew, they will carry out his wishes by declaring, as and when called upon to do it,that Dr. Chee Soon Juan, Lee Kuan Yew's political opponent a child molester or any other insult that may please Lee's ears.

And they would say, if that was what Lee Kuan Yew wanted, that I, Gopalan Nair, had only yesterday murdered 20 people and Francis Seow and Tang Lian Hong, similarly Lee Kuan Yew's political opponents are all unrepentant criminals.

And they would also, on a daily basis make the necessary corrections to comply with their version or rather Lee Kuan Yew's version of the law; to finally make known once and for all to all and sundry that if you want to live in peace in Lee Kuan Yew's island, fall on your knees and praise the dictator. Or else life will be miserable.

I am certain that with this latest addition to the Singapore Bench of Singapore style justice, another 1000 or so Singaporeans would have packed up and left for Australia. Tell me who can blame them?

Attorney Discipline Complaint details regarding Blossom Hing of Drew and Napier LLC, State Bar of New York

Ladies and Gentlemen,

About my last blog post on Blossom Hing Shan Shan, Drew and Napier LLC, Singapore, on possible ethical violations which may render her liable to be disbarred from the State Bar of New York, a reader has requested information on how to file a formal complaint. The details are:

Name in New York Registration: Blossom Hing
Her registration number: 4261319
Admitted to State Bar of New York: 2004
Presently working: Drew and Napier Singapore

Address to write to:

Department Disciplinary Committee for Attorneys New York
61 Broadway, 2nd Floor
New York, NY 10006
Tel: (212) 401 0800

In your complaint, please state her registration number, name and date of admission. Please also note your original signature is necessary.

When writing please quote her profile particulars in the Drew and Napier LLC website where she works referring to having assisted other attorneys in her office to sue and bankrupt Dr. Chee Soon Juan and other political opponents of Lee Kuan Yew and his family.

The more details given the better. Please point out that when she was helping to bankrupt Dr. Chee and others to please Lee Kuan Yew, she knew the law was being abused and it was being used as a political tool to destroy Lee Kuan Yew's opponents. It is this dishonorable action that she so proudly proclaims in her experience.

Any other information you have would be useful. The essence of the complaint is her deliberately pursuing a court action when she knew or should have known that it is a misuse of the law.

The State of New York is one that upholds the rule of law and it will not tolerate dishonorable actions such as this by a lawyer for personal gain.

Thanks

A Singapore lawyer, Blossom Hing, (true name Blossom Hing Shan Shan) taking pride in dirty work!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is one thing for a human being to deliberately harm another by abusing her position as a lawyer. It is quite another to flaunt it for profit, and wallow in it with pride! This is the case of this Singaporean lawyer Blossom Hing or rather Blossom Hing Shan Shan about whom I write.

I have said this all along about lawyers such as Davinder Singh of the law firm Drew and Napier who is always a willing participant for money whom Lee Kuan Yew uses to destroy his opponents through the courts. A specialist in Singapore style defamation actions, no matter how preposterous his legal argument is, he always wins whenever he has Lee Kuan Yew or any of his family members as his clients. A dirty man doing a dirty job for dirty money.

Recently a reader of this blog wrote to me about a Singaporean Chinese woman who calls herself Blossom Hing (true Chinese name: Hing Shan Shan). She is a lawyer in the same firm as this thoroughly disgraceful specimen of a human being, Davinder Singh, which is Drew and Napier. In her profile which she advertises in the firm web site, one of the areas she claims she has experience is defamation law. I quote her achievement or rather her disgrace:

Among her commercial litigation experience, Blossom acted with Davinder Singh, S.C. and Hri Kumar, S.C. for Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew in defamation actions against various parties.

I have listed her address and contact particulars. The reader might want to point out to her that helping Davinder Singh prepare defamation cases against a completely innocent man with the aim of bankrupting him and destroying him as a politician to please Lee Kuan Yew is not something to be proud about. It is something to be ashamed about instead. She might also want to know that being a member of the New York State Bar makes her liable to be disbarred as the New York Bar Code of Ethics specifically makes it unlawful for an attorney to knowingly use the law for an improper purpose, as she appears to have repeatedly done in Singapore to please Lee Kuan Yew.

The reader might also want to write to the State Bar of New York pointing out that this lawyer has clearly violated the code of ethics of New York Bar which specifically makes a lawyer subject to discipline for pursuing an action in court when she knows it has no merit in law whatsoever. When she was pursuing these defamation actions against Dr. Chee Soon Juan and others in the Singapore courts, she knew that it had no basis either in law or in fact. Therefore she should be subject to discipline by the New York State Bar. The reader might also like to know that the New York State Bar in particular is keenly aware of the abuse of legal process in Singapore by Lee Kuan Yew in his use of the law to destroy his political opponents. It carried out an investigation in the late 1990s and came out with a scathing attack against Lee Kuan Yew and his Singapore judiciary headed "Decline of the rule of Law in Singapore"; not unlike the recent similarly strongly worded attack against the Singapore Legal System by the International Bar Association.

Singapore style double jeopardy. Punishing a man for what he said, not what he did!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am sure Adolf Hitler had repeatedly gone around his Third Reich claiming Nazi Germany had the best legal system in the world, while he murders Jews. In Singapore you have sort of a similar thing. Lee Kuan Yew's recently hand picked minister for justice, K Shanmugam has repeatedly gone around claiming the same thing for Singapore, while Singapore now is going after a man for what he said, not what he did; in effect double jeopardy!

Singapore's state controlled newspaper the Straits Times online edition of Aug 28, 2009 has this article, "Ex Chairman Back in court". Lee Kok Leong a former Chairman of a residential management committee inserted super glue in his neighbour's door key out a misunderstanding. He was arrested for mischief and fined $1200.00 in April this year. One should have thought that is the end of this minor matter. But not in "Unique Singapore" as it's oligarchy in power with Lee Kuan Yew's at it's head, calls their country. Unique indeed. Listen to this.

After he had paid the fine and left the courtroom, a couple of reporters from Singapore's state controlled newspapers went to interview him again. They asked him, out of their own volition or were ordered to do it by their state bosses we do not know, whether he was remorseful about what he did.

Naturally being upset, as anyone else would have been after having to pay a fine, he predictably said that he was not remorseful at all, and a bit more to boot. The reporters from the state controlled newspapers then went straight to their bosses in high authority and reported this fact. This information from the state apparatus was then directly conveyed to the Singapore Attorney General with instructions to appeal the case to the higher court to ensure that he be severely punished; obviously because of his statement that he was, among other things, not remorseful!

This sort of thing only happened in former dictatorships such as Stalin's Soviet Union or present day North Korea, where what you say and even your thoughts can be the subject for punishment. What is required in North Korea is total submission, not only in action but even in thought. And if you have bad thoughts, such as an aversion to the state, then you have to punished.

This is the same thing happening to this victim of Singapore justice Lee Kok Leong. In any other country it would have made no difference if he had said after the case that Lee Kuan Yew and his cronies were a bunch of thugs. This is what freedom of speech and expression means. Here Lee Kok Leong did not even go this far. All he said was he was not remorseful. What business is it of Lee Kuan Yew and his bullies if he was not remorseful or remorseful. He is entitled to be anything he wants to be, sad, happy, agitated, not agitated, terrified, glorified, whatever! That is not a reason for punishment in common sense jurisprudence.

But Singapore is not normal. It is "Unique Singapore". Watch it, Big Bother may be lurking around the corner! And Lee Kok Leong must now go to jail (fine is not enough) for having the audacity of having bad thoughts, after being fined in our beloved leader's courts! And a specific order has already been sent from the Prime Minister's office to the particular judge assigned to this case, to punish poor Lee Kok Leong severely!

When you are in a hole, stop digging. Lee Kuan Yew should know that.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Most people, when in a rut, would try to save themselves. Not make it worse! Yet this is what Lee Kuan Yew appears determined to do!

Education, especially an English one and willingness to live under a dictatorship always work as opposites. They are not complementary. The more the education, the more the yearning for freedom. As more and more Singaporeans receive tertiary education, more and more do they find living under a dictatorship unacceptable.

Freedom gives one the ability to decide his own destiny. It gives him self respect and dignity as a man capable of making his own decisions. He dislikes being told how to live his life, what he should say and when he should speak. Unlike the illiterates, he thinks highly of himself and believes he knows as much if not more than anyone else even if that happens to be Lee Kuan Yew.

In Singapore’s history, it is always those who have had an education, who felt the need to question Lee Kuan Yew's authority, who were sued, sent to jail or exiled from the island. I am referring to men such as Dr. Chee Soon Juan, Francis Seow, JB Jeyaretnam, Tang Liang Hong, Jufrie Mohammed, Gandhi Ambalam, John Tan and many others. Gopalan Nair myself included.

The common element in all of us was that we all have had an education. We were all unwilling to live under a dictatorship. We all felt we knew as much if not more than the next man, Lee Kuan Yew included. There was no need for any of us to live under a dictator. So we objected to our subjugation. And we were all punished in one way or another, branded as criminals and outlaws. Our ideas were ignored; we were either sacked from our jobs or bankrupted and completely forgotten.

It is not just us that feel this way. As more and more students in Singapore get a tertiary education; as more go abroad to other freer countries, every one of them will begin to think just like we do. You see, it is impossible for anyone not to demand freedom if he knows it. That is how attractive freedom is.

Today Lee Kuan Yew is permitting more and young men and women to receive a tertiary education. Many are sent to free European countries and North America hoping they will return to Singapore and serve his dictatorship. But surely he must know that this cannot be. Why should they, with unlimited opportunities which come with a higher education want to work in Singapore under Lee Kuan Yew's orders like an obedient dog? Why should they?

It is these educated people, like myself, Dr. Chee soon Juan and others who could have contributed immensely to the future of Singapore. But criminalizing us and shutting us away, he is effectively losing the very talent that Singapore needs as a small country with no natural resources.

Dr. Chee's wisdom and experience is effectively denied Singapore just because Lee Kuan Yew doesn't like him. So is Francis Seow's talents wasted. So are the talents of a great many other very capable men and women who are effectively silenced because they are unwilling to play second fiddle to Lee Kuan Yew.

I can assure you one thing. As more and more Singaporeans become educated, more and more will refuse to live lives as slaves in Lee Kuan Yew's Singapore. Since their choice is either to fight Lee Kuan Yew's tyranny and become martyrs or to leave the country permanently, they will continue doing either of this in increasing numbers.

We know now that massive numbers leave Singapore every year for settlement abroad. We also know that 2 out of 3 students abroad do not return. We know that insufficient number of children are being born and the population is aging.

There are a few highly educated individuals who join the Lee Kuan Yew bandwagon and serve him. These men and women have effectively sold themselves to the devil for money. Men like Lee Kuan Yew's defamation lawyer Davinder Singh who would be prepared to say anything in court as long as it pleases his master. Judges like Belinda Ang Saw Ean who will do anything to punish Lee Kuan Yew's opponents by abusing the law. Men like K Shanmugam, Lee Kuan Yew's minister for law who will completely deny even a single human right to Singaporeans by tightening the law even further. These men and women are there for money. They are not motivated by altruism.

If matters go on like this, even more and more of the educated will leave the country, leaving those in Singapore who have no desire or knowledge of what freedom means. As long as the they are fed and clothed they will sing any tune whenever called upon. But they are not the ones capable of advancing Singapore’s future.

In order to continue in business, Singapore can emulate Dubai. Dubai's natives are the rich and powerful, who don't do any work. All the work is done by human imports, like Filipinos, Indians Pakistanis Afghans, the Arabs from the poorer countries like Egypt or Jordon and the high managerial and executives jobs by West Europeans and Americans. It is OK for Dubai to be this way because the native Arabs are very well taken care of. They don't have to work. As for Singapore, if massive emigration of the educated continue, there is going to be an ever increasing number of Singaporeans abroad who have not only forgotten their former country, they would have nothing good to say about it. And with an ever shrinking number of native Singaporeans in Singapore, the entire island which we knew would have changed its character entirely.

But the stark reality is that if the present high rate of emigration of the educated continues from Singapore, it would have no choice but to import increasing numbers of foreign talent to get the work done. Which means the original character of Singapore would be changed forever with foreigners as well as locals only interested to make as quick a buck as possible and get out whenever it becomes necessary. In other words, a transient population and transient government.

If Lee Kuan Yew were Nero, playing the fiddle while Rome burnt, someone should tell him to stop it now.

One of Singapore's most lucrative industries. The flesh trade.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A 20 year old Vietnamese woman, a Thai woman or a Chinese woman from the People's Republic of China will obtain a visa at the Singapore Embassies in Saigon (now Ho Chih Minh), Bangkok or Shanghai very easily, no questions asked. One look at her would tell even the dumbest of Singapore Visa Officers, why the woman is going to Singapore. She is certainly not coming to Singapore to look at the statue of Stamford Raffles at the waterfront. What else other than for prostitution in Geylang, Singapore's state sanctioned red light district. Yet the woman comes to Singapore in a breeze, no questions asked.

Geylang as you know is an area of about 5 miles square with numerous streets called Lorongs which are numbered in sequence, side streets and numerous back alleys. The prostitutes there are grouped according to nationalities. For example if you are looking for a Thai prostitute, you go to Lorongs 1 to 3. If your preference is Chinese, then Lorongs 4 to 6 and so on. The full list of countries is represented in this prostitution paradise of Singapore from Thailand to Nepal and even Russia, Belarus, Kazakistan and Uzbecks. I understand the ones who are more European looking command a higher premium.

And around these prostitutes, and entire segment of Singaporeans make a living. The 24 hour coffee shops do a roaring business, the Karaoke Lounges make money and so do the restaurants and the entire support businesses to cater for the mainstay prostitution business.

Last year, when I had to spend 2 months in Lee Kuan Yew's jail for criticizing a Singapore judge Belinda Ang Saw Ean for her bias, my cell mates were 2 Vietnamese young men, one for having sold illegal cigarettes and another for being a street gambling croupier in this very place Geylang. This man told me that he had done a roaring business up till he was arrested. There was, he said a large street customer traffic who had gambled at his joint either before or after they had sex with the prostitutes, just as they may have had a cup of coffee or a meal.

I asked him why the prostitutes were not arrested while he was. According to him, the prostitutes from these diverse countries can stay in Singapore for literally as long as they want in this sex business. They will be given an initial 3 months stay as a visitor (which by the way, they are not), which they renew for another 3 months, and literally indefinitely, by taking a trip across the border to Johore Bahru and returning. My prison friend tells me they are never arrested. Even though living off these immoral earnings is illegal, there by making it illegal as well, under the statues, Singapore not only permits the women to ply their trade, they vigorously encourage it. I suppose in it a sizable segment of Singapore make a living in such as the hotels in the vicinity that charge by the hour, the restaurants, the condom dispensers, the pimps and the taxi drivers, all of whom rely on prostitution directly or indirectly.

It may bring money to the pockets of these Singaporeans but what is it doing to their moral fibre? A people literally living off prostitution. Is this not having a deleterious effect on the morality of Singapore's young? Did the forefathers of Singapore in 1959 intend Singapore to be another morally bankrupt society of sleaze or did they intend Singaporeans to be upstanding men of honor, learning and dignity?

For a country, Singapore, that has no qualms to be the third biggest trading partner of Burma and North Korea, should it be surprising that it is eager to earn revenue from prostitution? As you can see, they will do anything for money. The casinos are already being built, after which they can have another Singapore mainstay business activity in addition to prostitution; gambling.

For want of a better way to make a living, Singapore will get the reputation of immorality, if it does not already have. An island to which one goes to have sex and after that gamble, not necessarily in that order!

Singapore. A need to change course.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

There may be a buzz of how the opposition is going to win votes in the next election and what not, but I hate to disappoint you. Nothing of the sort is going to happen. And what has happened in the last 50 years is going to happen again at the next election. PAP 82, Opposition 2. I can promise you that much.

Simply put, Lee Kuan Yew is not prepared for normal civil society, or for a normal democratic process. He alone will rule and not anyone else. The sooner you realize this, the better.

As usual, before the elections, there will be a spate of defamation threats, opposition will be vilified in Lee Kuan Yew's newspapers, all sorts of threats will be made and any capable opposition aspirant will be promptly silenced and removed. Although it is Lee Kuan Yew himself who has never permitted anyone else other than the PAP to get any political experience, the population will be told that the PAP is the only ones with any political experience. With a thousand other obstacles put in their way, the opposition will die a natural death even before they started. And then back to square one again, with the Lee family telling you how to live your lives and doing whatever they want.

And if you go on as usual with the ever elusive national elections, you will see no change at all. The only way to see any real change is to take real action now.

All you need is a few courageous souls to engage in peaceful civil unrest, with no violence of any sort. If you did this, surely no one can fault you. For instance how can anyone fault you for protesting the unacceptably high Ministers wages of several million dollars a year? Anyone with open eyes and a brain between them will tell you that you had every right to protest these unlawful salaries which amounts to simply theft.

How can anyone fault an Indian who stood outside the HDB offices and protested for not being able to rent (all HDB flats are owned by the govt) a flat in the area of his choice because of unlawful racial quotas?

How can anyone fault a citizen who stood outside the Singapore court and protested the unfair court decisions when a Lee Kuan Yew crony gets more favorable treatment as compared to any other citizen?

How can anyone fault you for protesting outside the court of Judge Belinda Ang Saw Ean for ordering Dr. Chee Soon Juan to pay damages of $400,000.00 for merely criticizing Lee Kuan Yew's policies?

How can anyone blame you for protesting outside the Singapore Press Holdings to demand a free press.

How anyone blame you for standing outside the Orchard MRT and distributed leaflets for a fair and Democratic society in place of the dictatorship that you are now subject to?

No one can blame you for any of this. Everyone can see that right is on your side and Lee Kuan Yew is destroying the Constitution and your fundamental human rights. And without these rights you are not a man anymore; you are sheep or dogs or some other fawning crawling animal.

You must protest and engage in civil disobedience. This is an honorable act. You will no doubt be arrested under these unjust laws. When you are charged, plead guilty and tell the judge that you disagree with these unjust laws. Pay the fine. And then do it again. Each time you do it, the Singapore state controlled press will give it publicity. Use it to your advantage. Do it again. And again and again. You will be surprised over the results. I am sure your actions will attract others to join you. In a crowded city like Singapore, the likelihood of attracting others to your cause is certain. Your aim should be to provoke this dictatorship to take steps to punish you. But the each time they punish you, it is they who lose not you; because right is on your side from the very beginning.

Frankly for starters we only need a few courageous souls. Once they dig their heels, I can guarantee you, the numbers will increase.

And if you keep up the momentum Lee Kuan Yew and his henchmen will become helpless. Tell me, how can you repeatedly imprison a man for doing nothing more than peacefully holding a sign in public? After a certain point, Lee Kuan Yew like the Burmese generals will have to use more and more force. And at that point the veil of respectability will be completely lifted and the world will know the real truth about what Singapore really is. That is what you should be aiming for.

Lee Kuan Yew hopes that by sending you to prison, he will disgrace you into silence and oblivion. This cannot be further from the truth. I have been to Lee Kuan Yew's prison for 2 months. Far from shaming me into silence, I have become all the more louder in my call for democracy. I wear my prison sentence as a badge of honor. I am very proud of it. Dr. Chee Soon Juan has gone to prison, Gandhi Ambalam, John Tan, Jufrie Mahmood, Izrisal, Shafie, Francis Seow, Chia Tye Poh, and many more others have spent time in Lee Kuan Yew's jails. And so have countless others in the jails of Adolf Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin; all who have worn their time in prison as badges of honor.

You will be respected for your actions. I was. Do it.

Singapore. Ho Ching on "breastfeeding"! What next!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Singapore's state controlled newspaper the Straits Times online edition of August 25, 2009 has this article " Ho Ching on breastfeeding. Temasek CEO relates her own experience at event to mark World Breastfeeding Week".

Many things should annoy a Singaporeans resident. Such as the corruption of it's politicians who openly pay themselves millions of dollars which they claim to be a salary, the siphoning off even more millions from the the country's assets in the CPF, GIC and Temasek Holdings whose activities are secret, and so on.

As if this was not enough, what is another major annoyance is having to read unsolicited nonsense from the Lee Kuan Yew family and his cronies about matters about which no one is interested in , coming from them, and about which they are not qualified to lecture on anyway.

In this article put out by the state controlled Singapore press, Ho Ching advises on the merits or otherwise of breastfeeding. Frankly I have not wasted my time reading it, but I assume it is a lecture on the merits of breastfeeding children. We all know it anyway, but that is not the point.

The point is, who is she to speak about this anyway. Merely because she is Lee Kuan Yew's son's wife, whom the father made Prime Minister does not give her any licence for this. Lee Kuan Yew's son as you know has never been lawfully elected into office. His father Lee Kuan Yew kept out the opposition at elections by vote rigging, defamation actions and threats to jail and bankrupt anyone who dared to stand against him. After being unlawfully chosen as a PAP Member of Parliament at the polls, he was quickly made a Deputy Prime Minister and Prime Minister thereafter. He has no authority as a Prime Minister anyway. No other quality other than being the son of his father. He then appoints his wife, this woman Ho Ching, to manage the state's assets in Tumasek, the government company which keeps the country's savings. We know that she has mismanaged the assets either because she stole them (corruption) or mismanagement to the tune of several billions of dollars, much of which has either not been accounted for or which the government refuses to disclose.

In these circumstances what gives this woman the authority to lecture to us on the practice of breastfeeding children about which she has no professional or academic knowledge whatsoever?

First of all she should not be talking at all, and even if she did, she should explain herself on how and in what manner $100 billion was lost. Did she steal it, and if not why did she mismanage it. Otherwise she should just shut up and go away.

But you see, that is unlikely to happen in a country with no free press, freedom of speech or expression. Whether you like it or not, Singaporeans have to simply continue reading this drivel.

Lee Kuan Yew's Minister for Law continues to make "changes to the legal profession".

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Singapore state controlled newspaper the Straits Times online edition of Aug 19, 2009has this government announcement "Changes to the Legal Profession. Pupillage system reduced. Easier for lawyers to practice here".

You know, I hope, what is happening to the legal profession in the island. From the past 15 years or so, the profession has steadily reduced in size, not increased, to what it is now. Of a general Singapore population of 4.5 million, there are no more than 3,000 lawyers there. Yes, 3,000 lawyers, and no more! Earlier in this blog, I had written to the profession asking how many lawyers there actually were. As expected they have refused to answer. You can imagine why. Tell me who wouldn't be embarrassed to say this in any country. It is a clear indication the lack of rule of law there is so well known as to stop any self respecting lawyer to go even within a mile of it.

About a month ago, Lee Kuan Yew's Minster for Law has come up with a series of actions he had taken, according to him, to increase this abysmally low number of lawyers. He has made it easier for foreigners to practice here by lessening the training period, he has made law training easier to permit lesser qualified individuals to practice and with this latest report, he is going to allow certain selected individuals to practice law without even passing any bar exams!

Can you not see a touch of desperation here? Even the choice of words in this latest propaganda exercise is misleading. He says "the object is to ensure that Singapore continues to attract high caliber legal talent and to grow as a regional hub for legal services and eduction!" Really? If it has "continued to attract" legal talent, why has the number of lawyers continued to decline instead of increasing?

And has it made any headway into being a regional legal hub? Is this not, yet again, a whole load of government hogwash. And since he last spoke about a month ago, have foreign lawyers been breaking down doors in massive numbers to practice in Singapore? What is it? Or are you once again, putting out this nonsense in your newspapers to please Lee Kuan Yew into thinking you are in fact doing some work and not idling?

I think, any Singaporean who can think knows you are determined to waste the newsprint of your state controlled press by putting out this drivel. The truth is this. The moment any foreign lawyer comes to Singapore mistakenly thinking that it is a democracy, he would be out the next minute through the very door he came, the moment he understands what Singapore truly is. Which is nothing but a small time dictatorship trying to hoodwink others into thinking it is a democracy.

No foreigner would want to have anything to do with Singapore when they know it has no freedom of speech; no freedom of expression; where judges are stooges of Lee Kuan Yew; where the Straits Times publishes any rubbish that the state wants; where lawyers are afraid even to defend their clients for fear their licences would be revoked; where anyone with any contrary opinion is either behind bars or bankrupted and where a man such as this, Shanmugam, is permitted to say this nonsense with impunity.

Singapore is a joke. And the foreign lawyers will find this out the next minute. And when they do, they will leave through the very door they came, before you could even say Wunderbar.

Singapore. Lee Kuan Yew's son gives good advice. Part 2

Ladies and Gentlemen,

You have read it in the Singapore state controlled press the Straits Times "Four rules of Harmony" Aug 17, 2009. Lee Kuan Yew's son gives Singaporeans advice. Earlier I had already listed many of the good mannerisms Singaporeans are advised to follow. Here are some more,

Don't make too much noise when you brush your teeth. It wakes up the neighbours.
Join the Resident's committees. It is good for you.
Exercise daily in the morning and evening.
Eat garlic. It helps circulation.
Keep healthy, so you can keep working.
Working is good. Always work.
The greatest achievement is to drop dead while working.
Don't complain about Minister's salaries. They are worth every penny.
If you don't have a job, it is your own fault.
Give yourself a European name. Robert Leong is good.
Respect your elders. Don't insult them.
Wear white and white. It is the color of supremacy.
Singapore has the best legal system in the world.
Singapore has the best airport in the world.
Shanmugam said Singapore is the best arbitration center in the world.
Everyone in the world admires Singapore.
Indonesia is stupid. So are the Malaysians. How dare they say "little red dot".
Lee Kuan Yew is the greatest leader the world has ever had.
No one commits suicides. They accidentally fall onto railway tracks.
When there is a death from a fall from a HDB flat, they were practicing hang gliding.
The Nigerians admire Singapore.
So does the Chinese.
So do the Bhutanese.
Listen to George Yeo, he will give you more advice.
So will all the other PAP ministers. They all have good advice.
Singapore does not have kangaroo judges, they have the best judges in the world.
The Constitution requires Chinese to be 75% of the population.
The Indians should not be allowed to live anywhere they want.
The Indians should stop spitting everywhere.
The Chinese should stop squatting while eating.
The Malays should stop messing about

And so on ad infinitum

Singapore. Lee Kuan Yew's son gives good advice.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

You have read it in the Singapore state controlled press the Straits Times "Four rules of Harmony" Aug 17, 2009. Lee Kuan Yew's son gives Singaporeans advice. To make it simple, let me list it out here:

Be nice to neighbours
Tolerate other religions
Don't spit unnecessarily
Don't chew gum
Don't be disorderly
Speak softly
Speak Mandarin, not the silly dialects.
Don't insult the Malays
Don't insult the Indians
If Chinese eat more curry. If Indian do the reverse, eat Mee Siam mai hum
Don't insult the judges
Don't be drunk in Serangoon Road
Speak proper English not Singlish
Climb Mount Everest, not Bukit Timah hill
Respect Ang Moh at all times
Call yourself Platinum Lim even if you can't pronounce it.
Remember don't associate with Gopalan Nair, he is a trouble maker.
Chee Soon Juan is a bad guy, very bad guy.
Respect and kowtow Lee Kuan Yew his son and his family members.
Be Confusion, not confused.
Remember Singapore is the best. It has clean streets.
Don't forget to say the pledge.

I hope I have summarised his advice. Thanks so much for it. I feel a better person already. Have I left out anything?

Singapore. Unless some drastic steps are taken, Lee Kuan Yew will make Singapore another mini China, with no rights at all.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

If no immediate steps are taken Singapore is going to become, if it has not already, another mini Chinese city, with no guaranteed rights and no freedoms whatsoever. And when I say steps, I do not mean merely writing blogs and letters. It has to be civil peaceful unrest. Nothing else will stop the inevitable doom.

Look for yourself. Today the judges are totally under the control of the Lee family. So is the entire press in the island. So is the police force, totally obedient to Lee Kuan Yew. So is the civil service which discriminates against those who do not submit. So is the education department which indoctrinates children with government propaganda. The island is slowly losing it's multi racial mix being predominantly mainland Chinese population. The Malays are losing their identity and becoming part Chinese with Chinese customs and manners. So are the Indians. In government departments and offices, Chinese is publicly spoken even when Indians or Malays are present. Daily you are subjected to government propaganda on how to live, how to talk, how to tolerate others, how to be polite, how to respect others, how to tolerate other religions, which goes on daily. There is no information except what the government tells you.

If this sliding slope goes on unchecked, not only Indian and Malays but even the native born Chinese would find Singapore totally alien to what they expected. It will not be an island that respects individual opinions. It will instead be another Shanghai where government tells you how to behave and what rights you have. Otherwise you have none.

Dr. Chee and other opposition leaders have done much. But all the writing and the information on contrary views will not stop Lee Kuan Yew from turning it into another Beijing, which he appears determined to do. As each day passes, we see the destruction of civil society unabated. Increasing numbers of mainland Chinese who know no English are flooded into Singapore, overcoming those who speak English and totally unacceptable to the Malays and the Indians. This was not meant to be.

Ongoing civil unrest must be the only way this onslaught against civil society is stemmed. It has to be done now.

Singapore. Time to act. Talking and writing is not enough.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

If you are an intelligent discerning Singaporean, are you not bored by the constant propaganda; not alarmed that even the slightest indication of a democracy is swept away; not outraged by the blatant racial discrimination not only against the Malays and Indians but also against the native born Chinese? If you are the time to act is now. And that responsibility lies of the shoulders of Singaporean opposition leaders who are aware. Leaders like Dr. Chee Soon Juan, Gandhi Ambalam, Jufrie Mahmood and the list goes on. If they do nothing now, the democratic Singapore which the pioneers fought for in the 1950s will be dead and gone forever. And the responsibility for that calamity will lie on the shoulders of the herein referred to opposition leaders.

The Straits Times daily puts out it's propaganda from the the PAP. Lee Kuan Yew's son, whom he appointed the prime minister advises us daily on how to live, how to be nice to our neighbours, how to respect other religions, how to be courteous, how to respect the elders ad nauseum. And so do his ministers and heads of civil servants. As Singaporeans or rather children, we are expected to take his advice and behave accordingly as he wishes, hopefully to become the ideal citizens he wants us to be. And this is where I ask him this question, who does he think he is anyway? God? And coming from a man who lacks the slightest of credibility! As you know he has never achieved anything for himself. He is there only because his father was Lee Kuan Yew. Shame on you, boy. Stop telling me to how to live my life.

Oh, I forget, I don't live in Singapore anymore. But I sympathize with you who have to put up with this daily dose of good manners from Lee Kuan Yew's son.

And don't forget, it is not only Lee Kuan Yew's son from who you have to take the daily lecture. It is also from all the other Ministers and civil servants, who by the way were never elected by you in the first place. As you know, with bankruptcy charges and defamation lawsuits all other independent thinking politicians had been promptly removed from the political process.

It is one thing to be poor. It is much worse to live knowing you are no longer the master of your destiny, Lee Kuan Yew is. Tell me, what is the point of having a salary, 3 meals a day, a TV and a job when you know, your entire survival daily is dictated by Lee Kuan Yew or his son? What is the point of life when the only voice is that of the government? When obedience and submission to authority is rewarded and independent thought is punished? When the government can do anything they want to you and you cannot even peacefully protest? When life is equated to total submission and obedience to authority, regardless of what you thought of them?

I can go on, but it is no use. Unless Dr. Chee and the other leaders do something about it now, the game is lost. In a few years Singapore government system would be even less recognisable from what it is now. A few more years down the line, you will not even have a single opposition leader in Parliament. Selected government stooges will be asked to do the talking, a form of make believe pretence.

It is on the shoulders of the opposition leaders this great burden lies. And they have to act now, for the sake of free Singapore.

Placing Singapore 147th among newspapers by Reporters Without Borders was not just for lack of freedom.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Reporters Without Borders, the internationally respected French monitor on freedom of newspapers worldwide has, as you know, placed Singapore's press nearly at the bottom of their list, for having almost no independence in reporting.

It was placed among countries such as North Korea, Sudan and Burma; all countries with a state controlled press just like Singapore, where information is tightly controlled and instead of news, you get propaganda.

I suspect, although the report didn't say so, it was also because of a pathetic lack of common sense. To explain this, look at these 2 articles that recently appeared in the online edition of their state controlled press, the Straits Times.

One was on August 08, 2009 with the title "Couple killed on train track" about a young man and a woman who were run over by a train and killed. Surely we all know that when you are run over by a train, you will very probably have extensive injuries. There is no need to have to say it, surely! Yet this article has the following "the Chinese boy's left leg was amputated and he suffered an open head wound and he suffered multiple fractures". "The girl had multiple fractures and her right leg was nearly severed at the knee".

Another article about the same incident appeared on August 10, 2009 in the same propaganda pages "Run over by train. Families friends mourn duo". This also carries reference to their injuries "19 year old's body which had multiple fractures an open head wound and a severed leg". "Her forehead and nose appeared bruised while earlier reports had said her right leg was nearly severed at the knee".

Other than describing these gory details, the 2 articles had something about their families attending the accident site and their funeral. Other than that there was nothing else!

After reading this you begin to wonder why they wrote the articles in the first place. And what was the need to write in detail about "severed limbs" and "open head wounds" etc. After all they were run over by a train! What did you expect after being run over by a train, minor scratches!

Reading these 2 articles, you begin to feel that not only these Singaporean newspaper reporters have no independence of expression, they also lack any common sense. If they were run over by a train, we all know the injuries would be serious; no doubt about it. There was no need to write about "open head wounds" and "severed limbs". We all know that. It must be quite obvious to anyone, that this must be a suicide since we all know that if you were in Bukit Timah Singapore, you would have heard the approaching train from as far away as neighbouring Malaysia! That's how loud the whistle is!

But here was nothing about why they killed themselves, and no other story whatsoever other than "open head wounds" and "amputated limbs" after being run over by a train!

Tell me, would you be still surprised why Singaporeans with any grey matter in their heads make a bee line to the airport permanently leaving for more sensible countries? You tell me that!

Singapore. If I was TS Sinnathuray, I would not be sleeping peacefully at night.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Had Singapore been an Iraq or Somalia, or even some former Eastern European country, a man like TS Sinnathuray, Lee Kuan Yew's evil judge to finish off Lee's competition, would have been killed, had his legs broken or some other major calamity would have befallen him. But being Singapore, and being a gentle people, we do not resort to such violence. And that is why a man like TS Sinnathuray who has caused great hardship and suffering to innocent people for his own gratification and that of his master Lee Kuan Yew is permitted to live his life at least now in peace.

But I would like to warn him that he is not safe. And if he were wise, he would be worrying now. He thinks just because Lee Kuan Yew his protector and benefactor, is still alive, he will be protected from harm. Be not so sure. The winds of change are fast approaching in Singapore. Lee Kuan Yew may be strongman now, but he may be history very soon. On the one hand he may just die, as he is already 86, or he may be overthrown.

And with his end, it will also be the end of the PAP and the end of good life for people like TS Sinnathuray. I ask Singaporeans to remember the evil that this man has done to his people. The evil that Judge Belinda Ang Saw Ean is responsible for and the injustice of these judges, these police officers, these civil servants should all be noted and at the right time, they should be held to account.

This man TS Sinnathuray should be sent to the same prison that he had sent countless other Singaporeans to please his master by abusing his position as a judge. He should be bankrupted and impoverished just like he did the late JB Jeyaretnam.

An eye for an eye. That is only just. That is why Hitler's judges who sent millions of innocent people to their death to please Hitler were held to account at Nuremburg.

TS Sinnathuray should be told that it is not safe. Be warned. The time for reckoning will come, sooner than he thinks.

TS Sinnathuray, Lee Kuan Yew's former judge is one of the National Day Award Recipients.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

If there was ever an evil man who lived, without any humanity, any decency whatsoever, it has to be Lee Kuan Yew's former High Court Judge TS Sinnathuray who was honored in this year's national day awards with a BBM,( Public Service Star (Bar).

The Singapore State controlled newspaper the Straits Times online edition of Aug 10, 2009 has this article, "National Day Award Recipients" which gives us the list including this base, thoroughly dishonest human being. His name which he goes by is TS Sinnathuray, which stands for Thirugnana Sampanthar Sinnathuray. In 1978 he was made a High Court judge for his willingness to abuse the law as a district Judge punishing all critics of Lee Kuan Yew, then Prime Minister, using his judicial position. For the dirty work he did for his master Lee Kuan Yew, he was promoted High Court Judge in 1978 which position he held up till 1997.

To say this man was a dishonest man is not enough. He was evil personified. A man without any principles abusing his judicial office as an instrument of political control, abusing the law repeatedly each time a critic of Lee Kuan Yew came before him in court.

One example was Tan Wah Piow. He had merely organized a student protest at the Singapore university where he was a student. Displeased with his protest and agitation, even though completely peaceful, Lee Kuan Yew ordered the Singapore police to have him arrested and charged for rioting. Brought before this shameless judge who was prepared to do anything to please his master, Lee Kuan Yew, he was instead tried for rioting. Tan Wah Piow had the good sense to escape to Malaysia while out on bail, and then on to England. He is now in London in exile as a lawyer.

In 1991 I had stood for elections in Bukit Merah as a Workers Party candidate. At an elections rally I had said that it would be better for the Legal Service Commission not to have direct control over the appointment of Subordinate Court judges since the Attorney General was it's most powerful member and this would appear to make the courts biased in favor of the government. I suggested a better system more like that for the High Court judges where it is independant of the Legal Service Commission.

Lee Kuan Yew was not happy with what I said. I had to be silenced. The way to do it was to charge me for contempt of court by the dubious argument that I had shown contempt to the Subordinate Court Judiciary by what I said.

The late JB Jeyaretnam acted for me. Even before I had stepped into court, this thoroughly unscrupulous judge had already made up his mind that I was guilty. No attempt by me to persuade him that no contempt was uttered or could it be perceived to be so, mattered. The prosecution brought examples which had no relevance to my case which he willingly accepted, for instance that of a man in New Zealand upset with the court's decision had collected a whole load of garbage and hurled it into court! Needless to say it was an open and shut case. As expected I was found guilty and fined $8,000.00.

And not just me and Tan Wah Piow. He was Lee Kuan Yew's principle judge whenever it came to punishing Lee Kuan Yew's political opponents, a job which he carried out with relish. JB Jeyaretnam was repeatedly punished and bankrupted by him, numerous foreign newspapers were all found in contempt of court and guilty of libel and slander for writing nothing more than fair criticism; not to mention the numerous Singaporeans who were persecuted by abusing the law. This man had no regard for the constitution, no regard for the rule of law and no regard for the interests of Singapore. All he cared for was his personal interest, the need to remain in the good books of his master and employer Lee Kuan Yew. And during his long career of shame, he damaged Singapore, damaged the institution of the rule of law and propped up his master Lee Kuan Yew thereby reducing Singapore to what it is today; nothing but a dictatorship with his master, Lee Kuan Yew as the dictator.

This man has to answer for the evil he was responsible for. He cannot be allowed to get away. With a change in government, men like him should be held to account and punished for the evil he has perpetrated shamelessly abusing his position as a judge for political purpose.

He was born in 1930, which makes him 79 years old. We hope he will outlive his master and we want retribution. Tan Wah Piow wants retribution, I want it, the many Singaporeans and others whose rights were violated want it. I ask Singaporeans to keep an eye out for him, so that he does not give us the slip. Lee Kuan Yew has given him some titular position of Chairman Singapore Notes and Coins Advisory Committee in the Prime Minster's Office. Look out for him. Don't' let him get away in the name of justice and decency.

Singapore. Gay pride? No, Eurasian pride!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Singapore state controlled newspaper's online edition of August 4, 2009 has this article "Eurasian Pride. Racial Harmony in Singapore". Talk about a wrong choice of words, and worse, an insult to every red blooded Eurasian in Singapore!

Normally when you say "pride" for a section of the community, you normally think of a people downtrodden because of a distasteful or immoral past reputation, such as the "gays". That is why you have "gay pride week" or "reformed criminals pride week". The need to assert their "pride" is to challenge the normally held derogatory view of them, an attempt to rehabilitate from a past bad reputation. I have no problem with that when it comes to gays and others previously disadvantaged, and I am sure neither do you.

But to write an article about "Eurasian pride" is to insult every Eurasian in Singapore or anywhere else. George Yeo, Lee Kuan Yew's Foreign Minister, makes several false assertions in the article which means either he has never lived in Singapore or he is deliberately putting out falsehoods, because with a state controlled press in Singapore, he can say anything however false unchallenged. The latter is of course the case here.

First he says "More than 20 years ago, Eurasians were not treated in a respectable way and therefore many left for Australia." I have lived in Singapore too and I have never come across anyone treating Eurasians in a "less respectable way". In fact, with a European ancestry, albeit only part, Eurasians felt themselves better and higher class than the Asian Chinese in Singapore, like George Yeo. Considering Singapore being a predominantly Chinese island and they feeling European; not wanting to be associated with the Singaporeans Chinese coolies, of which George Yeo's ancestors were one; they preferred to settle in Australia which was principally a white country. Their leaving Singapore was certainly not because anyone in Singapore looked down at them. In fact it was the other way around; the Eurasians looking down on the Asian Chinese; and the Asian Chinese like George Yeo admiring Eurasians for their usually better looks and their European culture. George Yeo's name itself gives this away, since why is he calling himself George Yeo instead of Yeo Heng Hock or whatever Chinese name he was born with since his Mongoloid appearance has nothing to do with a European name like George!

George being a typical English name, I am sure King George V of England, would be turning in his grave to know a Singapore Chinese guy whose parents were Chinese coolies from Southern China, in pigtails kowtowing every five minutes to the Emperor's servants, lest their heads be chopped off; is now running around Singapore island and calling himself George!

George Yeo then says Eurasians now are asking that they be described as Eurasians in the Singapore identity cards. Apart from the fact that they may or may not have asked to be described as "Eurasians" in their ID cards, since with a state controlled paper like the Straits Times you can say any lie you want anytime; the whole concept of marking a person’s race in his ID as Chinese, Indian etc, is totally unacceptable. It smacks of apartheid, since the constitution specifically declares all to be equal; what need is there to mark a persons' race other than to discriminate him? This practice is outlawed in all free civilized nations in the world except for the totalitarian and repressive regimes such as the previous racist S Africa. For instance my California ID carries the name Gopalan Nair. It does not say Gopalan Nair, Indian.

He then says "Everyone in Singapore is given equal treatment". Really? In 1938, Singapore Chinese population was only 51%. Today, despite the decreasing birth rate among the Chinese, which would have meant the Chinese population, would have declined even further, it now stands at 75%, because George Yeo's government in total violation of the Constitution brings in disproportionally large numbers of Chinese from China to ensure they remain the majority. This is a violation of the Constitution as it requires equal treatment among the races. Is George Yeo, Lee Kuan Yew's Foreign Minister not lying through his teeth when he says “everyone is given equal treatment"? Tell me George Yeo, are the Malays and Indians treated "equally"?

George Yeo, who appears to be completely in the dark about Eurasians, should be told one more thing. Eurasians, the educated ones that is, are continuing to leave Singapore in progressively greater numbers to Australia and elsewhere. And they are leaving because there is no democracy in Singapore and also because the Straits Times, Singapore’s state controlled newspaper continues to insult their intelligence and their ethnicity by writing this nonsense such as that put out here by Lee Kuan Yew's foreign Minister George Yeo, this Chinese George.

My name is Gopalan Nair. Not Archibald Adams Nair. And I am proud of it.

Everyone can do their part. You should do it.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Remember everyone can do their part in the work of dismantling Lee Kuan Yew's dictatorial machine. Here, I write this blog. It is being read in Singapore. Widely. For the lies and falsities published in Lee Kuan Yew's newsletter, the Straits Times, I debunk it as it appears. Lee Kuan Yew and his men are fuming with anger over what I write. But there is nothing they can do. This is the Internet. And my story spreads slowly but surely and progressively inexorably. As Gorge Orwell said in 1984, when you can say 2 and 2 is 4, everything else follows. Yes, things are looking good. And write, I will.

I ask everyone out there, in Australia and abroad to write, to agitate, to organize and expose this tyranny. It is the effort of all of us. Each of us, including myself. We all can be proud of what we do, because each effort matters.

And when you write, please identify yourself. No need to fear. What hurts Lee the most is your willingness to identify yourself and tell it to his face. Once you do that, his confidence is shaken and he falters. When you hide under a disguise writing ghost letters, he knows he has you in his grips because you fear. Don't give him that advantage.

I write my name across anything I write. I want him to know that I am not afraid of him. This is what bothers him the most.

Lee Kuan Yew thinks he can control public opinion through his state controlled newspaper. You have a chance to prove him wrong. If enough of you write your mind, even fewer accept the news in it. His position is becoming increasingly untenable. So do your part, publicly.

Good luck.

Sending a priest to jail. Singapore denies the right of freedom of religion.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Lee Kuan Yew Singapore's strongman, who has criminalized the chewing of gum, dismisses a man's freedom of religion and sends him to jail. The dictatorial island's state controlled newspaper the Straits Times of July 25, 2009 caries the article "NS man drops protest. Teen punished for disobeying orders despite counselling".

Madana Mohan Das, an 18 year old Singaporean was forcibly drafted into the army of the island, which requires all male citizens to do military service. Das however was no ordinary citizen. He is a Hindu priest like his father at Singapore's Geylang Hare Rama Temple. He rightfully exercised his constitutional right under the Constitution guaranteeing the right to freedom of religion. He said he will not eat army rations and must grow a tuft at the back of his head in accordance with time honored traditions around the world which distinguishes the Hari Rama Hindu community.

In any other country which respects the rule of law, dispensation would have been granted to such a priest. He would be granted the right to serve in a non military capacity such as community services. This is only common sense. Muslims are not forced to eat the meat of the swine with food specially cooked by a Muslim alone. The Sikhs are permitted to grow their beards and hair while everyone else have to have the military cut. Such is the dispensation to Muslims and Sikhs in Singapore.

I have written before that Lee Kuan Yew's Singapore is not concerned about the rule of law, constitutional rights and the equal protection clause under the constitution. They do anything they want, anytime they want. And that is why only last year, the International Bar Association said exactly this in their 72 page report on Singapore. They did not pull any punches. They did not mince words. Singapore's judiciary they said is corrupt and beholden to the rulers of the country and it simply has no rule of law.

And this shame is amply depicted in their disgraceful action here. In spite of this young man protesting his need to follow his religion as a priest, they sent him to jail with a threat that unless he stopped his fast, they will imprison him for 3 years. Afraid of this, he had no choice but to submit, resulting in their releasing him after 5 days. A government that goes around threatening it's citizens!

Knowing their action is simply unjust, they get a man, a lawyer Srinivas Rai, a government sycophant for the last 30 years; who serves his master Lee Kuan Yew in some supernumerary capacity in a government set up Inter Religious Organization; to support this injustice by the government, which of course he willingly does. He makes this preposterous assertion, that it is impossible for any Hindu priest to be officiated outside India and since this young man had not been approved by any Indian temple in India, he is not a Hindu priest! According to his reasoning, millions of Hindu priest in countries all over the world would suddenly all become discredited and lose their positions all because the temples in India had not provided their seal of approval! And to make sure that he speaks for his masters no matter how illogical his argument, he says, that Hindu priests can eat any food as long as it is vegetarian! He does not say under what authority he comes to this conclusion!

I know Srinivas Rai personally. He was once a Nominated Member of Parliament and even though he did and said whatever he could in praise of his political masters, he was nevertheless removed from his position. I understand that once selected as a government minion, errand boy by Lee Kuan Yew as he was, it is almost impossible to lose that privilege. You have, I understand, to be particularly incompetent to achieve that.

As to how far he would go to get the favors of his master can be seen in this. He once stood up in Parliament and argued that there was no need for any opposition in Parliament. The PAP he said, can ask the questions, and they can answer them!

Srinivas Rai, the lawyer, has done more crawling by himself before his master Lee Kuan Yew than all the reptiles put together in the reptile enclosure of Mandai Zoo.

Madana Mohan Das will be forced to eat the food at his camp and cut his hair, against the tenets of his religion. He has been broken in body and spirit. At the end of his 2 years of forced servitude, he will returned to society a bitter man, ashamed of himself and his life. And Singapore has once again shown that it has no regard whatsoever to any niceties such as the Constitution of Singapore. And Lee Kuan yew would have shown one more time who is the boss in the chicken compound which is Singapore.

Adding insult to injury. Asking Singapore people to say the national pledge "together"!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Singapore's state controlled newspaper the Straits Times online edition of Aug 3, 2009 has the article " Saying the pledge together". With Singapore's National Day only a few days days away on August 09, 2009, the dictatorship's National Day organizers are asking the people to not only recite the pledge but say it "together". This is adding insult to injury, an insult to all Singapore people's intelligence.

By now you must be aware, that Singapore in blatant violation of it's Constitution which guarantees free speech expression assembly and all the other fundamental rights, instead it imprisons and bankrupts anyone who dares to speak the slightest criticism of Lee Kuan Yew or any of his family members or his government. There is no right of free speech, assembly or anything. The Constitution is shamelessly violated for all to see.

In spite of this, believe it or not, it demands that all school children everyday, morning and evening, recite the following pledge which in fact refers to the guarantees of free speech and democratic rights

"We, the citizens of Singapore
Pledge ourselves as one united people
Regardless of race, language or religion
To build a democratic society
Based on justice and equality
So as to achieve happiness, prosperity & progress for our nation"

The school children who find themselves in this distasteful position of having to say something which they know to be false, and their parents, should rightfully refuse to say the pledge when both they, their parents and this dictatorship are fully aware that Singapore's National Pledge is nothing but a shameless disgraceful lie.

Since the children as well as the parents have been consumed with fear of Lee Kuan Yew and what he will do to you if you criticize or complain, they go along with their lives in this charade and Punch and Judy show reciting the pledge on a daily basis, 2 times a day, knowing fully well they are lying through their teeth.

Not satisfied with the children having to go through this disgraceful make believe every day, the dictatorship's organizers through their state controlled press are now asking not only Singapore people in Singapore but throughout the world to say that lie (the Singapore National Pledge) precisely 8.22 pm Singapore time on August 9, 2009.

I can tell you there will be the usual sycophants, HDB cleaners, hawkers and taxi drivers who are looking to some advantage by wearing the dictatorships white uniform and singing praises engaged in this comic show of the Singapore National Pledge. Other than them, the usual crawlers, you won't have anyone else doing this stupidity either in Singapore or anywhere else in the world, I can promise you that.

This is another exercise in propaganda through the state controlled dictatorship's mouthpiece the Straits Times. They would say this once in their papers and nothing more will be heard of it anytime hence. And the National Day PAP organizers will be praised by the dictator for having done their duty for their country blah blah; and that will be the end of this nonsense, for the time being; until they think of some other nonsense to say tomorrow.

Would you be surprised to hear that thousands emigrate from Singapore every year?

Education abroad. Don't forget Europe.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As a follow up to to my last article, parents and students should also consider Europe other than the usual destinations of USA, Canada Australia and New Zealand. From having lived in Germany and my understanding of European education, there are tremendous opportunities for an excellent education in Europe.

Germany for instance is a leader in science and technology. A degree in Chemical Engineering from Germany for instance would be at par if not superior to even a American education. And the additional possible attraction is the fact that as far as I know, the education systems there, including Scandinavia, offer much more generous and universal scholarships for students than the usual destinations of UK etc. Another advantage of going to these countries is the advantage of acquiring a new language. We forget, half the world speaks French. A degree from France or Belgium would mean more doors opening in the rest of the non English speaking world. A degree from Germany may mean a job in Switzerland or even Namibia, former German SW Africa with a job in diamonds or gold. A degree from Holland may mean a job in Holland, the Netherlands Antilles in the Caribbean or Suriname or Dutch Guiana.

The point I am trying to make to Singapore students is this. You really don't need much money to get an education abroad. What you need is guts. What you need is a burning desire to achieve your aim. Once you have that, the rest is history.

But don't forget one thing. If you want to be a lawyer in Singapore, it still has to be the English speaking world. Studying Roman Dutch law in Wolfgang Goethe Universitat in Frankfurt will not help you practice law in Singapore. Law is still an excellent subject of study and it is still a good choice. Lee Kuan Yew and his dictatorship will not be around for too long, from the looks of it. In the future, you will be able to practice law in Singapore under the rule of law. Sadly it does not exist now.

Saying goodbye to Singapore

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The state controlled Singapore newspaper (all of them are state controlled)the Straits Times online edition of Aug 3, 2009 has this article "Lure of foreign degrees. More apply to varsities in the US, Australia and Britain despite recession".

The article is about a civil servant mother and her businessman husband sending their daughter 19, to Boston University to read English Literature. They have another daughter 16, who I suppose will wait her turn to leave Singapore. There is a nice picture of the family.

The article states the reason for her going abroad instead of the state controlled Singapore University (everything is state controlled in Singapore)is for greater exposure to the outside world. This is correct but I reckon only one of the reasons why this young woman is going away. All the other reasons are conveniently not stated, as this may not only hurt but heighten the number leaving Singapore.

I tell you what it is. This family, like the thousands upon thousands of families in Lee Kuan Yew's fear ridden island want their precious daughter to grow up and educated as a normal human being, with her normal human faculties intact, not the robot that Lee Kuan Yew's education system churns out. Second, with the CPF system already bankrupt and soon to see the entire system kaput, they feel at least their daughter should be given an even chance to succeed in life outside the prison island. And third, with this daughter out there in the free world, this would help in the re-location of the entire family to the United States, since once she becomes a citizen, she will be able to get her parents to re-locate followed by her younger sister.

And I tell you one thing more. The girl is good looking, and intelligent which means that any American young man would be quite ready to marry her.

With that I end with Adios Singapore, Adios Lee Kuan Yew, you bully. One more educated family out of Singapore. I can take a bet on this. She will not return to Singapore, ever. Which reminds me of what Goh Chock Tong had admitted only 2 weeks ago speaking to a school audience, that 2 out of 3 students who go abroad never return. From the looks of it, it is more like none return. Thanks for reading.

Lee Kuan Yew will do the thinking. You will do the working.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The flood of bad news coming at us in Singapore simply refuses to let up. Yesterday the news was Singapore Airlines lost $80 million and counting. A few days ago, news that Tumasik, the government investment organ lost $40 billion, earlier the GIC a similar organ lost almost everything; yesterday it was Singaporeland a government owned real estate company in the red and ships are clogging up the waterway creating a danger to navigation, waiting for the ever elusive cargo. I can go on and on. Bad news upon bad news.

The government on the other hand continues to send us the icing on the cake by its constant parroting of assurances that this is only a passing phase. Everything will sort itself out, don’t worry. But are these assurances enough?

Should we be simply accepting these promises and assurances and go on as usual?

Look at reality. It is worse than you think. If there is one main yardstick of the Lee Kuan Yew government's financial well being, it has to be the CPF, the government run retirement scheme. And it is kaput. It refuses to pay your retirement pension dues by a series of creative but nevertheless hopeless excuses. For instance, outwardly appearing to be altruistic it claims it can only pay you small sums over the years for your own security, to avoid financial irresponsibility on your part. But is that really the reason? Or is it because the CPF is now simply bankrupt and they don't have any money left! This is sadly the truth, if you asked the ordinary man on the street. At least that is what they think.

More signs of impending financial collapse. No less than 1000 citizens every month, a staggering figure, acquire permanent residencies in Western countries? The same number gives up their Singapore citizenship for that of foreign countries every year.

Some more signs of impending doom. 2 out of 3 students who go abroad never return? Perhaps they refuse to live the quiet subservient boring lives Lee Kuan Yew has in store for them in his island when they return.

But it is not fair to blame just Singapore since almost every other place on earth is suffering a recession; only if this island had the means, like other countries to self correct and right itself again on a steady keel. Sadly unlike other normal countries, Singapore does not have that ability. In a society where Lee orders and others obey, it lacks the most important ingredient needed for any successful society, that is, citizen participation. And you will never have citizen participation in such a society run on fear, because Lee Kuan Yew only wants to hear what is pleasing to him, or else you might even end up in prison.

Another interesting aspect of the robot society is scholarships. The large numbers of government's scholarships to students which is in fact nothing but involuntary servitude. The government sends bright students, I mean children who have merely passed their school exams, to foreign universities at government expense. In return they promise upon graduation to serve the government, or rather Lee Kuan Yew or his son, for a decade or 2. When I mean serve, I mean just that; keeping the dictator in power. At the same time, to ensure these students do not run away, which they very often do despite the onerous and distasteful burdens on them and their families, the child's parents are required to sign agreements guaranteeing their compliance, or else pay Lee Kuan Yew a penalty of $100,000.00 or so.

I hope you see like I see, that in order to benefit from this one sided arrangement, both the child and the parents have to be persons whose moral fiber is not up to the mark; to put it plainly, unscrupulous; without principles. Both child and parent know what the child will be doing for a decade or 2 would be unpleasant dirty work, such as a civil servant denying assistance to Lee Kuan Yew's opponents; judges required to abuse the law to punish his detractors; and other similar dirty dishonorable work. The only attraction that both father and child have in these arrangements is the vast sums of money the child stands to gain. The good news is, that despite the initial lack of upright morals and conviction, once the child goes abroad, a sense of conviction and truth gets into their heads and they very often break their bonds and refuse to return. Today the Lee Kuan Yew government is resigned to the fact that 2 out of 3 scholarship students break their bonds. They never return. Which is turning the scholarship scheme for the government into a risky financial proposition. But they continue with it anyway. They are desperate, and have run out of ideas.

But it is these student mercenaries that Lee Kuan Yew relies on to govern his island. Men and women lacking any decent passion about anything, lacking ideals, good morals and conviction. They are unable to get the best among their people to work with them. Tell me which honest capable person with a good upbringing and values would want to be associated with a dictator who abuses the law and denies even the basic human rights to his people? As a result you end of with people such as the Minister of Law, K Shanmugam who has passed his recent Public Order Act denying his people every right to protest wahtsoever.

Other than these mercenary unprincipled scholars who are commissioned to do the thinking and formulate all policies, the Singapore government has all along told the ordinary people that government is none of their business. Their jobs are simply to do the work. These selected government scholars who will rule over them, will find work for them, provide homes for them, provide hospitals for them, provide everything for them. This caused an entire population to switch off their thought process. No need to worry about government matters. An entire nation of helpless robots, waiting for Lee Kuan Yew and the government scholars to provide all the answers.

This is not so in other western countries. There every man had his imagination intact. There was no need to fear a Hitler there. They could do what they want and when they want. They could speak their mind, as they think. The country and their industry moved and morphed in new directions helped by the input of their thinking, proud and responsible citizens. Every citizen there had their own ideas of politics, what the country should be and how it is run. Every one of them was able to stand on their own with new ideas for their survival. There is a constant, continuous interchange of ideas opinions and agendas where everyone felt a place for themselves in the running of their country. And from which the government and society benefited.

In Singapore on the other hand, you have an entire population unable to think for themselves and waiting for what the government has next in store for them. This makes life dull and unexciting. In Singapore there is no spontaneity in their people. There is no spark. There is no zest for life except conformity silence and obedience. Dull uneventful lives. Dull uneventful people. Like clockwork they labor and go to bed and work the next day.

And with the people having completely lost their ability to stand on their own, this government is frantically demanding their minions to come up with ideas, one of which is gambling dens. Otherwise what else is there? Tourism is now down, shipping is now down, manufacturing is now done, and everything is down. And not to forget offshore banking which is which is not just down, but finished.

If Lee Kuan Yew had shown some respect for his people and not treat them like "digits", they may still have some independence left about them. Being robots, waiting for the government to tell them what next, there is no hope at all.

The ordinary Singaporean is a dead man, dead in spirit, a robot. The only ones alive are Lee Kuan Yew and the minster scholars. Such a country is not conducive to advancement. There is no hope.
